Get a Library Card
Who may get a card?
Library cards are free for Fruitport Village and Township residents.
Residents of Spring Lake Village, Spring Lake Township, and Crockery Township can apply for a library card at Spring Lake District Library as well as the Fruitport District Library. Residents of Sullivan Township and Norton Shores must apply for a library card at Muskegon Area District Library.
Once your library card is obtained, you may use it at Fruitport District Library. Not sure where you fit in? Give us a call!
How to Apply
Have a valid Michigan ID with your current address is required to obtain a library card. If you live in our service area but have not yet updated your ID, you may bring a valid ID along with a piece of mail that shows you reside at your address, such as a utility or cable bill.
You can also click on the "Register for a Library Card" at the top of the page for an immediate card.
Patrons under 18 must have a legal guardian present to obtain a library card.
Lost or Stolen Cards
Call the library at (231) 366-6107 to report any lost or stolen library cards. You receive one free replacement card. Additional replacement cards are $1.00 each.
Lakeland Library Cooperative, Grand Rapids Public Library, and Kent District Library patrons with valid library cards may use their library cards at Fruitport District Library.
Renewing Your Card
Fruitport District Library cards must be renewed once every three years and in person. Bring your current photo ID with proof of residency to update your account. You will not be able to check out items, place holds, or use our electronic resources until you renew your card.
